Country code then the number, digits only: no +, no 00, no spaces, no leading zero. A French mobile 06 12 34 56 78 becomes 33612345678.

Does it work with WhatsApp Business?
Yes. A wa.me link works with the WhatsApp app, the WhatsApp Business app and numbers connected to the WhatsApp Business Platform. It points to the number, whichever app answers it.
Why does my link open the wrong number?
Almost always a formatting issue: a missing country code, a leading zero kept after the country code, or a + sign. Use the country code menu and type the rest of the number without its first zero.
Can I see how many people clicked?
Not from wa.me itself: WhatsApp does not report clicks. Put the link behind a page or a short link you control, or pre-fill a different message per campaign and count the conversations that arrive with it.
Is my number stored?
No. The link and the QR code are generated in your browser and nothing you type is sent to our servers.
